Diana Ross McCain

Diana Ross McCain is a genealogist and historian with more than 35 years of professional experience.  She was on the staff of the Connecticut Historical Society in Hartford, Connecticut, for 25 years, and was also a reference librarian at the Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, Connecticut.  Diana holds bachelor's and master's degrees in history, and a master's degree in library science.

For decades, Diana has also pursued a free-lance career in researching, writing, and speaking about genealogy and history.  Her clients have included for-profit companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private individuals.  She is the author of five non-fiction books, including It Happened in Connecticut and Mysteries and Legends of New England, and the historical novel Thy Children's Children: A Novel Based on the True Story of Five Generations of a New England Grassroots Dynasty.

 

Carol R. Whitmer

Carol R. Whitmer is a professional genealogist, historical researcher, author and lecturer.  She has been doing genealogical research for over 38 years.  An author and active researcher, she regularly teaches genealogy courses at the college level and lectures on various genealogical topics, including Genealogy for Beginners, as well as presenting specialized classes on New England genealogy resources, DNA and genealogy, and using electronically available genealogical resources.

She was Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut Historical Society, where she also acted as a consulting genealogist.  She is a past president of  the Connecticut Society of Genealogists and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
